Best Moisturizers For Baby Winter Skin

I got a rude awakening at the doctor’s office the other day that Piper’s skin is super dry and that I should be moisturizing much more than I am. It’s funny how obsessed I am with my own skincare that I’ve failed Piper in this department! I’m a product junkie and have a ton of different baby oils and lotions that I’ve been trying out on Piper but I guess I didn’t think her skin was as dry as it is – she has some really dry red patches which I thought were even possibly Eczema. Our pediatrician suggested we apply lotion twice a day and spot treat the dry patches as much as we can. So… as I’ve changed my own skincare routine for the winter I’v realized it’s also important to change for your kids and babies too!

Our favorite moisturizers for baby:
Babyganics Eczema Care Skin Protectant
Hands down the best “heavy duty” natural lotion we’ve tried with Piper. I have been applying it before she gets dressed in the morning and before I put her PJs on at night (or after her bath). I can tell her skin is still hydrated after 5+ hours of wear. It’s really changed!

Earth Mama Angel Baby Angel Baby Oil: If you prefer a baby oil to a lotion we really like this gentle formula by Earth Mama Angel Baby. It absorbs pretty quickly — and sometimes I put it on after her lotion to ‘seal in’ the moisture.

Zoe Organics Everything Balm: This has been my savior with Piper’s dry, red patches. She has one on her neck and I apply this as much as I can throughout the day and have seen a dramatic difference. Her nose is also really dry so I swipe it on there as well, which she always laughs and smiles at.

Honest Healing Balm: I don’t use this formula all that frequently but it’s still a great moisturizer – though Piper’s skin is a bit too dry for it right now, it’s great for daily use in the warmer months. I also use it on her bum to prevent diaper rash.

Sophie La Girafe Face Cream: I also really like this face cream — and yes it’s Sophie’s own line of baby skincare products! It’s very gentle and I try to put it on her face as frequently as I change her diaper.

Tip: I keep most of her moisturizers upstairs in her room so it’s easy to put them on when I change her, but I keep the balm downstairs in a basket next to the chair I nurse in so I don’t forget to apply it as much as I can.
