My Favorite Beauty Products Of 2017

Dec

I try so many products throughout the year and I’m excited to share a big recap of all of my favorites that I’ve used up and loved in 2017. I’ve have been working on this post for a long time and hope you enjoy it! You’ll probably notice that many of these products skew to be more natural since I was pregnant most of this year and tried to use more clean and organic beauty products. My big cleaning project for today is going through ALL of my beauty samples and getting rid of expired products, making a big pile to donate and gift bags for girlfriends because our bathroom is looking pretty insane at the moment and I can’t wait to start fresh for the new year.

SKINCARE

Goop Luminous Melting Cleanser: Hands down my favorite solid balm cleanser of the year- it removes makeup, is super gentle and leaves your skin really soft yet clean. I use it at night only and typically reserve it for days when I’ve been wearing makeup that I need to remove. I tend to use this more in the colder months.

True Botanticals Hydrating Cleanser: I went through a bottle of this so quickly because I used it nearly every day – it’s a great gentle cleanser for every skin type and can be used year round.

Juice Beauty Pregnancy Peel: I swore by this throughout my pregnancy when I ditched all of my stronger anti-aging products. It really helped to clear up breakouts and give my skin a little boost when it was feeling dull.
First Aid Beauty FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer: I’ve had a hard time finding a primer that actually moisturizes my skin enough and this one does the trick but doesn’t make your skin greasy. It layers really well under my skin tint/foundation/tinted moisturizer and I’ll often mix it with my foundation if I want a more natural look for everyday wear.
Pixie Skintreats Peel & Polish: This exfoliating works WONDERS on dull, dehydrated and uneven skin. It will leave your skin glowing. I love it almost as much as I love the Pixie Glow Tonic .
Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner: One of the only toner’s I’ve tried that simultaneously hydrates your skin while also exfoliating, removing makeup and encouraging skin cell turnover. I use it nightly after I wash my face. It’s my favorite! Mun’s serum is also one of my very favorites for evening skin tone and hydrating. I also love how quickly it absorbs.
Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb: This was my go-to spring & summer moisturizer – lightweight but still hydrating. Great for layering on top of a serum or layering under makeup.
Leahlani Honey Love 3-in-1 Exfoliator: I love how this product wakes up your skin and how you can use it as a cleanser, exfoliator and mask. It smells amazing and I’ve gone through my jar pretty quickly. It leaves your skin super soft and glowy. I’m so glad I discovered this brand in 2017! I also LOVE the Mermaid Mask (totally understand why it has a cult following, just look on Instagram) and I just started using the Bless Beauty Balm on my super dry skin before bed, I wake up and it’s baby soft.

MAKEUP

Origins GinZing Mascara: I’m super, super picky about mascara and have been using the same one for years — I tried this on a whim not expecting much but it’s my new favorite. I love how thick and full it makes your lashes!
Beauty Counter TouchUp Skin Concealer Pen: I purchased a few products from BeautyCounter this year to test them out and the concealer was by far my favorite item. I’ve been using it since – I love the coverage, how easily it applies and it doesn’t cake up in my wrinkles.
W3LL People Bio Brightening Invisible Powder: I never used a setting powder until I got hooked on this one — I use it nearly every time I apply makeup now. It works wonders to set my more shiny face products but still looks super natural (not caked on and matte) and gives you a very subtle glow. I just ran out and am going to restock for the new year!
Pixi by Petra Strobe & Sculpt Palette: I’ve been using this palette for the past few months exclusively and love that it has everything I need in one place. I love how natural the bronzer is and the glow the highlighting powder gives.
Honest Beauty Everything Primer Luminous Base: I love this primer when I’m going for a full on ‘makeup’ look — which isn’t most days. I don’t apply it to my whole face but instead just the areas where I’d highlight. It adds the perfect amount of glow and is easy to layer.

HAIR

Playa Every Day Shampoo: I don’t use a ton of hair products but this shampoo was by far my favorite I tried in 2017! I love the scent (smells like the beach) and how soft and healthy it makes my hair feel, it clarifies without making your hair feel dried out. I

Kerastase Elixir Ultima Oleo-Complexes Volume Beautifying Mist Oil: I use this as a post-shower de-tangler when I wash my hair – it leaves my hair smelling incredible and moisturizes my dry, split ends. It also helps my hair be less frizzy when I air dry it but doesn’t make it greasy since it’s such a lightweight formula.

Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Mask Honey Treasures: I use this a few times a week but am tempted to every time I wash my hair. It’s super hydrating and you can’t beat the price.
