Best Winter Skincare Products

Ah, winter skin season is upon us! Ever since I was pregnant with Piper my skin has become so dry in the winter, it seems like I can’t ever apply enough moisturizers. I’ve tried sooo many products and thought I’d share a few of my recent favorites that are working!

Face Wash:

This time of year I switch to an oil based face wash– especially at night! They gently remove makeup and don’t dry out your skin. Recently I’ve been using balms and I find they work even better. My very favorite is Goop’s Luminous Melting Cleanser. It’s pricey (I got it as a sample) and I use it very sparingly because I love it so much that I want it to last all winter. It’s made with natural products and is so gentle on your skin, it doesn’t leave you feeling greasy but actually clean. I find it works wonders for my complexion. I also like Kat Burki’s Vitamin C Cleansing Balm -it’s lighter and quicker for me to use. When my skin is feeling super dry I use Pixi by Petra Nourishing Cleansing Balm, this is the only balm/oil based cleanser that leaves my face feeling a little greasy feeling — but I love the scent and again if my skin is really dry I don’t mind it.

Moisturizers:

In the morning I’ve been alternating between First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Daily Face Cream if I’m wearing makeup (I feel it leaves my skin more matte after applying) and Erno Laszlo Oil Control Lotion. I also use Olay Original Hydrating Beauty Fluid all the time.

In the evening I use bareMinerals Essential Moisturizing Soft Cream or, more frequently these days Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream. I swore by it when I was pregnant and still think it’s one of the best at really hydrating dry skin.

Oils:

For the past few weeks I’ve been adding a drop of Goop Enriching Face Oil to my day cream- the moisturizer helps the oil absorb, so it soaks in so you don’t feel greasy — and it really helps keep my skin supple all day long.

At night I use a serum and then have been applying Mun Brightening Youth Serum most nights, but I’m almost out! It leaves your skin luminous sand is worth the splurge. It’s also all natural. For a more affordable oil I like Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil Blend. I find I do need to mix this with moisturizer or else it just sits on the top of my skin. I love the scent of both of these oils.
