My New Bedtime Routine + A Winter Reading List

A bedtime routine + books to read this winter

I started a new bedtime routine last week — and I’m loving it so far. I’ll admit it doesn’t happen every night, but I’ve been making a conscious effort to make it happen! I wrap up work/cleaning/TV by 9/9:30pm and head upstairs with a mug of sleepy time tea. I spend a good 5-10 minutes on my evening skincare routine (I really look forward to this indulgent time) and then hop in bed to read for at least 45 minutes. Around 8pm I start anticipating this ritual and am so enjoying this relaxing time (OFF electronics) before bed — not to mention I’m actually reading again.  I started an Amazon wish list to keep track of all the books I want to read but thought I’d share a few here! I just read Wildflower by Drew Barrymore which is such a sweet, easy read. I recommend it! I’ve also been reading on my Kindle while nursing again — a refreshing break from my usual Instagram scrolling!

I just started Fate + Furies and am really enjoying it so far — it has me hooked.

I gave my sister Eight Hundred Grapes for Christmas and she said it was really good and is lending it to me for my next read. I can’t wait, especially since the Napa Valley is such a special place to me (where my grandmother lived).

My Name Is Lucy Barton just came out and has received extreme praise — from everything from the New York Times to the Washington Post. It’s a ‘hot’ read on Amazon and New York Times Best-Seller, and I’ve only heard good things!

I discovered The Longest Night on Amazon and it just seems like a book I would read quickly and like — it’s based on a true story and the girls behind theSkimm described it as “Think Army Wives meet Serial…” sign me up!

Finally… I’m not sure I have it in me to read When Breath Becomes Air yet – but it’s on my list so I don’t forget about it.

If you’re interested in more good reads we put together a monthly book list over on Glitter Guide!
