Piper’s Big Sister Hospital Gift Bag

Dec

I’ve had Piper’s big sister bag ready to go for a few months ago but finally got around to photographing it. One of the parts of this pregnancy that I’ve struggled with the most is worrying about Piper, losing my precious alone time with her, my first born and how she’ll handle the transition into being a big sister. I’ve been trying to research how to prepare her and more so, how to act once her baby sister is born. One of the things I always knew I wanted to do was put together a big sister bag for her to open at the hospital. We are also planning to have a balloon and donut for her (two of her favorite things) in our room. She also picked out a gift for her sister that she’s going to wrap when she heads to her grandparent’s house and then bring it to the hospital!

I tried to keep the bag simple but with some special things I know she’ll love.

  • Piper is super into baby dolls and I know that she’ll be very interested in taking care of hers like we take care of her sister. I picked up this adorable swaddle, burp cloth, bib and bottle set from this shop on Etsy.
  • We got her this kid-friendly digital camera for taking photos of her new sister with – I know she’s going to be so excited!
  • And of course I couldn’t resist books — I’m A Big Sister is one you see all the time and You Were The First is so beautiful, I couldn’t get through it without sobbing and probably won’t be able to read it for a while!
  • I made the bag — it was so easy. I picked it up for $5 at Michael’s and then used a stencil to cut out the letters from felt and hot glued them on and tied a few ribbons on the handles.
