Quick, Effective Workouts for Busy Mamas and Why They Work!

Guys, I’m feeling very proud of myself – I’m on day 2 of my 10 day pilates challenge! Today I’m chatting with Robin of The Balanced Life about why these quick (15 minute) workouts can actually work. I’m finding them so easy to fit into my schedule and love that I literally have no excuse for not doing it. My new goal next week is to try and fit in 2 15 minute work outs- but we’ll see how that goes!

What’s your workout philosophy?

Have you ever skipped a workout because you didn’t have time to complete the whole thing? Or perhaps you feel you don’t have time to exercise because you can’t fit in that hour-long class + commute to the gym?As a mom of 2 young kids, who also runs a business from home, I get it.My daily mantra? Something is always better than nothing. If you don’t have time for a 60-minute workout, do 30. If you don’t have time for 30 minutes, do 10. Do what you can and embrace the fact that every little bit counts.

Why do shorter workouts WORK?

Now, if I told you that you could build long, lean muscles in just ten minutes per day, would you believe me? Yes, I know. This sounds too good to be true, but here’s the secret: Pilates teaches you to work smarter not harder. Over the years, I have coached thousands of women through my online Pilates programs that focus on short workouts and I have seen amazing results! Instead of spending hours at the gym with little focus and mediocre form, Pilates teaches you to work with intention and focus on your form, ensuring that you activate the proper muscles and get the most out of every movement.

“A few well-designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence are worth hours of doing sloppy calisthenics or forced contortion.” – Joseph Pilates

How else will shorter workouts benefit your day to day life?

Spending a few minutes on your mat each day will leave you feeling more energized, connected to your body, and committed to making better choices throughout the day (i.e. you’ll be more likely to reach for that green juice instead of a soda when you hit the afternoon slump). You are also more likely to STICK to a routine and keep up daily workouts when they are only 10-15 minutes. And for the busy mamas out there, you can sneak in a workout during nap time (or my favorite…bath time) and still have time to tackle that to-do list. So, if you find that you’re skipping workouts more often than not, because you just don’t have the time or energy to get them done, I encourage you to give my quick Pilates workouts a try. You’ll not only see improved consistency, you’ll also see real results!

I also have a FREE challenge starting this week and I would LOVE for you to join in the fun. The Mind Body Pilates Challenge is only 15 minutes per day, no equipment necessary, and you can do it from the comfort of your own home on your own time!
