One of my favorite parts about our new house is the covered patio in the backyard — especially this time of year when it’s lighter into the evening and we can use the space to entertain and eat dinner. The only problem is our proximity to the water and the abundance of mosquitoes that come with this territory! In the past my husband has sprayed the yard with chemical-laden bug spray but now that we have a young daughter (and a baby on the way) that’s out of the question. I recently teamed up with Zevo Flying Insect Trap to test out their new chemical insecticide-free flying bug trap!
We plugged it in outside under our covered patio right next to our dining table in hopes that it would ward off bugs for a recent alfresco dinner — and using it in combination with citronella candles kept us bug free all night. We also have Zevo traps plugged inside our house in areas that are prone to attract bugs like near the trashcan and our fruit bowl. Customers are encouraged to try moving around the Zevo trap until they find an area that attracts bugs successfully, it can take a few tries.
I love that these flying bug traps are worry free– I don’t have to think about my daughter or dog getting into poisonous chemicals around our house or have pesky gnats and flies around! So– how does this amazing trap work? Simple! You plug in the cartridge and it emits a light which attracts bugs– and traps them with a powerful adhesive strip. When the cartridge is full you just replace it! I’m excited to be able to leave our windows open on the rare chance we get a cool summer breeze and be able to entertain with ease outside this year!
