I’ve always been a big snacker – throughout my adult life I’ve consistently had three meals a day with a morning and afternoon snack (until recently when I seem to be eating around the clock!). I try to keep my snacks healthy– think rice cakes or apples with almond butter, carrots & hummus, a smoothie or cheese & crackers but sometimes you need something easy to grab for on-the-go. That’s where Nourish Snacks come in! My friend Julia introduced me to the brand which was started by Joy Bauer and offers pre-packaged, healthy snacks that are all under 200 calories. The best part is how good they taste, I’ve had a hard time picking a favorite but the half-popped corn in Mr.Popular & the Menage-A-Mix are among my favorites. I created three summer cocktails (which I can not wait to sip!) and Nourish snack pairings that I’m excited to share with you today!
Nourish Snacks are available by mail only and you can get them in ‘collections’ or a-la-carte. Perfect to toss in your beach bag or work tote this summer. Nourish Snacks is offering Style Within Reach readers 10% off with the code STYLEWITHINREACH at check out! Happy snacking!
The first combo is Mind Your P’s & BBQ’s & Mint Moscow Mules. To me this snack is like a healthy version of your typical bar nibbles but with a nice BBQ kick. It’s packed with protein and the roasted chickpeas are so good! Give your Moscow Mule a refreshing twist by adding a teaspoon of mint simple syrup and garnishing with mint leaves.
Next up, Orange Shandys & Mr.Popular. I love a good summer shandy – it’s funny to me that so many beer brands offer them ‘pre-made’ now. I prefer mixing a little citrus juice, (in this case orange) to my favorite light beer and garnishing with a fruit slice. If it’s really hot out, I’ll even serve this over ice. The perfect snack to nibble on while sipping a refreshing Orange Shandy is Mr. Popular, it’s really hard to just eat one package of this crunchy snack — and the half-popped corn is much better than the leftovers at the bottom of your popcorn bowl!
And lastly, what my be my favorite pairing is Rose Scented Prosecco with Almond To Cherries. I’ve been on a cherry kick the past year or so, I love to use them in smoothies but they also make a great sweet treat during the day and pair perfectly with the sweet floral bubbly! To make this easy ‘cocktail’ just add a splash of rose water (be sure you get the edible variety) or rose simple syrup to a glass of chilled Prosecco.
