4 Beauty Tricks For Busy Moms

Most moms I know don’t have a ton of free time for themselves — either you stay at home or you work outside of the home, both are full-time jobs and when paired with taking care of life…i.e. laundry, groceries, cooking it leaves little time for yourself. If you’re anything like me, beauty comes last on your to-do list. But luckily there are quick little ways you can sneak it in — here are a few of my faves.

Try A Jade Roller

I recently started using a jade roller as part of my skincare routine (mine is from Herbivore Botanicals but they have a ton on Amazon) — I’m super late to the bandwagon but I’ve been loving it so far. An ancient Chinese medicinal practice, jade rolling is said to remove toxins and draw out negative energy and help with lymphatic drainage. It also claims many other benefits from combatting fine lines to brightening skin tone but I haven’t really noticed any big differences there — what I do like is how it helps with puffiness under my eyes and in my cheeks. I pop it in the fridge before I use it under my eyes and generally use it all over my face after I apply my serum or oil — it really helps it absorb! It takes less than a minute to roll!

Wear An Under- Eye Mask

When I was younger I used to keep spoons in the freezer and put them under my eyes to help with the puffiness — it was part of my “getting ready” process and I haven’t done this in years thanks to under eye masks. My favorite one from Bliss seems to be discontinued but these from e.l.f. are super affordable and work great — keep them in the fridge and pop them on when you get out of the shower and dry your hair.

Do An At Home Peel

I’ve never had a real chemical peel but I looooove my at home peels. I did them religiously when I wasn’t pregnant (when I was pregnant I swore by this Juice Beauty pregnancy peel) and they instantly perk up dull skin and give you a nice natural glow. I usually do them once a week. I love Pixi’s Peel & Polish.

Mask While You Shower

Multitasking at it’s best! Slather on your favorite face mask and wear it into the shower — I’m wondering why I didn’t think of this one earlier, it’s now my favorite way to pamper my skin and I do it at least twice a week. My favorite masks of the moment: True Botanticals Resurfacing Moisture Mask (really exfoliates while also boosting moisture, something that has been difficult to find) and Hello Fab Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask.
