Today I’m excited to partner with The Home Depot and the Glade® Holiday limited edition fragrances to share a personal story a around what kind of emotions and memories a scent can trigger, especially around the holidays. These special candles are available in stores now for this holiday season.
For as long as I can remember I associate the specific smell of a pine candle my dad had with getting out our Christmas boxes every year – it’s such a vivid memory of that small dark green wax candle. Now whenever I smell pine I’m always taken back to those fond childhood memories. Christmas is my dad’s favorite holiday and he always goes over the top with decorating…the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree I guess! As soon as November starts I crave that cozy pine scent !
The Glade® Holiday Collection have two scents available in store this holiday season: Enchanted Evergreen and Nutcracker Delight, available as 3-wick candle or plug-in refill.
My dad’s not the only one who loves Christmas, the whole family does of course — but one of my mom’s best contributions to the season is her sugar cookies. She’s made them every year for as long as I can remember, and lucky for us now that I have 2 little girls she’s found other opportunities to make them throughout the year (like hearts for Valentine’s Day)!
We had a fun afternoon baking + eating sugar cookies and the warm scent of the Nutcracker Delight candle made for such a cozy atmosphere. The holiday limited edition fragrances from Glade® are available at The Home Depot and retail for $4.88.
They are always a crowd favorite and a plate of them doesn’t last long. She makes a buttercream frosting to go on top followed by sugar sprinkles. Recently the girls and I spent an afternoon at my parents making the first batch of the season — and they had their cozy candles lit.
