When an email from the Martha Stewart team landed in my inbox asking if I wanted to put together a picnic using Martha’s White Wicker Picnic Basket to kick off summer I nearly squealed at the opportunity. I didn’t waste any time signing up for this challenge and immediately knew I wanted my picnic to have some sort of theme. After browsing Martha Stewart.com ‘s picnic recipes I landed on something simple, fresh and French! Read on for (a ton) more photos, recipes and more! See the full feature later this week on Glitter Guide too!
Lavender is one of my favorite scents and flavors so I made this very easy Lavender Spritzer. It would be the perfect base for a cocktail too. I used Martha Stewart’s Acrylic Hobnail Glasses to serve.
I’ve been making a lentil salad almost every week since the weather warmed up but have never cooked the vegetables first. Oh my – this French Lentil Salad is so good! Heating up the carrots, celery and onion first really brings out the flavors and adds incredible dimension to this salad. I cheated and used pre-cooked lentils from Trader Joe’s so it took hardly any time at all. This salad is so filling it can serve as a lunch entree or as a light dinner.
Finally for a sweet treat to end our picnic my sister and I attempted to make Rose + Raspberry French Macaroons . They were very delicate but tasted so good!
