A few weeks back I shared my bedroom makeover with Target over on Glitter Guide. This was an especially fun project to work on becuase I love Target and I’ve needed a reason to force me to get our bedroom into the dreamy, relaxing space I’ve been wanting. Our bedroom was a total mess before this makeover – it wasn’t a place I wanted to spend anytime. I made a few easy changes and didn’t spend much to really fix it up. First — I painted the entire room “Drowsy Lavender” by BEHR. Previously I had one light blue accent wall painted, because I was lazy. I love the new color – it’s calming and peaceful and really brightens the entire space. I also installed a curtain rod and hung up curtains from Target.
Next up: replace the DIY headboard Austin and I quickly made before a photo shoot that didn’t fit properly and was hung too high. Drastic difference!!! We also got matching nightstands for Target and swapped out our lamps so they also matched. I took down the old “Keep Calm & Carry On” original print (which I had like 5 years before it was popular, true story) and replaced it with 2 prints from my Lulie Wallace calendar I framed.
Next I tackled the dresser which has been an eye-sore since we moved in. I moved the large mirror from our living room in (makes our tiny room look huge) and hid our TV behind it! Then I de-cluttered and streamlined the styling. I also removed my clothing rack and hung artwork in it’s place.
I painted a $5 canvas from Michael’s with acrylic paint to create something custom and affordable for our room. It made me miss painting!
And there you have it! A totally new room that took just a little bit of time and planning!
