Entertaining: Arranging Grocery Store Flowers

I thought I’d share a few tips I’ve picked up the past few months since I’ve been arranging more and more flowers that I pick up at the grocery store. I love to get one giant bouquet and make several smaller arrangements (like I did here) and I also always try to get greenery to add.

To create this arrangement I used a block of floral foam (it’s a game changer) and started with the seeded Eucalyptus and then layered in the flowers.

Don’t be afraid to use different vases and vessels! I love the height of this one! I used floral foam here too.

You can also use clear tape to create a grid on the top of your vase if you don’t have floral foam. You just slip the stems in the tape squares and they stand right up! Another trick I’ve learned is cutting the stems of flowers on a diagonal to allow more water in and changing the water daily with luke warm water instead of cold.

PS- If you’re in the Annapolis area don’t forget about the South Moon Under grand reopening party at the Towne Center! Sips, goody bags + 20% off all purchases!!
