My favorite part of the holidays is entertaining- specifically coming up with cocktails, appetizers and tablescapes! (I recently put together a few pairs for Glitter Guide if you’re still working on your Thanksgiving menu, check it out here.) This cocktail is so easy and you’ll probably already have everything on hand for your Thanksgiving meal. If you have any guests (like my boyfriend) who claim champagne gives them a headache you can also create this with vodka and soda or omit the alcohol completely for a mocktail.
Cranberry Champagne Cocktail
1 oz. cranberry simple syrup (recipe below)
Dry champagne (or Prosecco or Cava)
Angostura bitters
Frozen cranberries to garnish
Pour 1 oz. of cranberry syrup in the bottom of each glass and top with champagne. Add 3-4 dashes of bitters and garnish with frozen cranberries. You can substitute champagne for vodka and soda and omit the bitters.
Cranberry Simple Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup fresh cranberries
*feel free to use this ratio with any proportions, depending on how many you are serving.
Mix ingredients over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Keep on heat, stirring constantly for 4 additional minutes. Let cool for 1 hour. The longer the cranberries sit in the sugar mixture the more flavor your syrup will have.
