Friday Finds & Mom Fails

It’s been a WHILE – but I’m trying to get back into my editorial calendar and consistency and bring back my Friday round up – including reads from the web, things in my shopping cart and my mom fails! This week was a hectic one. We got home from a trip to NC on Sunday night and Piper got her first stomach bug in the middle of the night, so she was at home Monday, we had a big shoot on Thursday with some exciting collaborations that we’ll be launching next week!

I’m doing two fun events for Mother’s Day and if you’re local I’d love to meet you next weekend! On Saturday I’ll be in DC at Brief Assembly for Mama Mornings – so much fun stuff going on at this BEAUTIFUL pop-up concept store. I seriously want to buy the place out, these ladies have curated the most beautiful assortment of goods and merchandised them so well. Anyhow – we are celebrating mamas all weekend and I’ll be there from 10-1 on Saturday and would love to see you! You can RSVP and get more details here.

Then on Sunday the 29th I’m doing a mama & me flower workshop at Westfield Annapolis as part of their Annapolis in Bloom event. So excited and just a little nervous! Kiddos (3+) will have the opportunity to make flower crowns and mamas will be able to make a bouquet to take home. You can get tickets here, act quick because there are limited seats.

Let’s start with the mom fails.

I tried to bribe Piper to be in some photos for a big shoot I was working on but she declined, ‘no photoshoots’. She also said this exact same thing last weekend when my in-laws were attempting to take a family photo in front of everyone, lovely. But in all honesty as soon as Piper expressed disinterest in being in photos I don’t push it. I let her join if and when she wants.

Don’t let your kids have glass cups in the bathroom. Piper knocked over her toothbrush cup and it shattered in the sink — lesson learned.

Screen time is a little OOC over here lately – and we have really strayed from our weekend morning and while I make dinner routine and Piper’s now watching way more shows than I ever wanted for her at this age. I used the excuse of having a newborn for a while and now since we still don’t have a nanny.

Had to cancel Piper’s first dental apt for the FOURTH TIME this week, when she got sick but luckily we finally made it on Tuesday – needless to say the dentist wasn’t able to do too much. Piper screamed the entire time, just like she did when we went a year ago. Womp!
