Friday Finds & Mom Fails

Apr

It’s been a long, emotional and yet exciting week. We were finally able to get some answers for what Flora has been suffering with (allergic to peanuts, dairy, egg, tree nut and fish) and now we have a treatment plan in place and can start educating ourselves on how to equip our house and family for a child with severe allergies (that hopefully she will outgrow). And hopefully me eliminating these allergens from my diet will help her Eczema improve. I feel nervous yet hopeful for the future.

On a lighter note we announced the first ever Mama Notes product collaboration!! You can get the beautiful Mama Notes keepsake locket HERE! In my 10 years of blogging I’ve never collaborated on a product like this and I’m so excited with how it turned out……and tomorrow you’ll want to follow my Instagram stories to see the other product I designed with Belabumbum ! Both are under $100 and ship in time for Mother’s Day :)

Tomorrow I’ll be at Brief Assembly in D.C. (the dreamiest pop-up store ever, I promise you’ll want everything) from 10-1pm and would love to see you if you’re local!

And now…

Mom Fails Of The Week

We somehow lost Piper’s new toothbrush and it took me 3 days to get a new one, WOOPS!

Laundry still piled up from the weekend – and I have 3 overflowing bins to get done. Somehow I just can’t get organized with the laundry.

Didn’t meal plan for the week – it has me all distraught and out of order especially with my diet. Piper had breakfast for dinner “her favorite” one night and “snacks” the other. Minimal vegetables. Winning.

Reads From The Week

5 bad ass women saving the planet

The team at Madewell shared their favorite ‘mom-isms’. I love this idea — “My daughters and I play the Mad Sad Glad game a lot. At the end of each day we ask each other what made us mad, sad and glad. It’s a good game—sometimes what made you mad is also what made you glad.”

I love Daphne Oz and how she’s painting an honest picture of motherhood and this interview with her is a great read, I really, really resonated with it.

I feel like moms today feel obligated to our own needs and desires and also to the needs and desires of everyone around us, which is where we fall into the trap of always feeling inadequate. The difference between doing it all and having it all is a perspective shift.

7 books (all written by women) to read this Spring.

Kristin Bell talks motherhood and self-care

I’m dreaming of owning a piece from Kayla Gale’s motherhood series and love this interview with her.

A bull-shit free working mom makeup routine!

What’s In My Cart

These high-waist shorts (just ordered a few pairs and will try them on next week).

I’m in desperate need of new sunglasses before my trip to Charleston next month – and these are in my cart!
