Getting Dressed for Less: Travel Style

Old Navy Jacket, Target Sweatshirt & Sandals, H&M Hat & Bag, Tobi Sunglasses

Growing up my mom would take my sister and I shopping each summer for a “plane” outfit for our annual trip to California. We may or may not have worn our bathing suits under our clothes with anticipation of jumping into our grandparents swimming pool more than once on the plane. Now picking out an outfit still is somewhat of a process for me. I try to wear as many comfortable layers as possible, my heaviest jacket and bulkiest shoes. I always bring my largest bag – in this case a cheap but huge faux leather H&M tote that I can cram books, magazines, my laptop, fuzzy socks and a pashmina wrap in.
PS- have you ever given up your seats on an over-sold flight? I’ve always wanted to and my boyfriend & I did on our flight out. We ended up with a night in the Westin and a $400 voucher each on United and are excited to plan another trip in the spring!
