Gingerbread Playdough Recipe

We’ve been making homemade playdough since Piper was little but this was our first time making festive gingerbread playdough! Perfect for this time of year, this playdough is non-toxic and smells like warm gingerbread fresh out of the oven, making it great for ‘baking play’. It’s also great for holiday parties and you can even package it up with cookie cutters to use as a party favor. I add essential oils into mine but it’s just as fragrant without. Enjoy!

In a sauce pan stir to combine:

1 cup of flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tbs cinnamon
1 tbs allspice
1 tbs ginger

Stir in:

1 cup of water
1 tsp vegetable oil
Essential oils

Stir constantly over low heat, once dough starts to form mix in a few drops of essential oils ( I use Thieves Vitality & Cinnamon Vitality), stir for a few minutes until it looks and feels like playdough. Careful not to burn! Let cool and then play! Store in the fridge.
