I’m a little late on sharing this since I’ve been out of town for a few weeks –but in case you’re breastfeeding and did not hear the news, the CDC has released suggested regulations for cleaning breast pump parts. You can access the info here and here’s a direct link to the breast-pump-fact-sheet from the CDC.
A few points I’m making note of…
- Sanitization should happen at least once a day. We use a combination of the dishwasher, Baby Brezza Sterilizer and these Medela Steam Bags
- Have a dedicated sponge for cleaning pump parts (certainly guilty of not doing this) – I did really like these brushes but I’m sure we used them for other dishes, too!!
- If you’re using a tub to wash your parts in, be sure it’s dedicated for this use only and be sure to wash and/or sanitize it daily.
