I honestly can’t believe I’m typing these words. I’ve been DREAMING about this day for 4 years. I love to cook and spend a lot of time in the kitchen and our outdated 1970’s space was not functional (as in the drawers do not FUNCTION) or aesthetically pleasing what-so-ever. Since we have a split foyer, our kitchen is also the first thing you see when you walk into our home. No matter how beautiful Flora’s room is or our bathroom – your first impression is an ugly old kitchen. Sooooo – I’m thrilled to finally be giving it a total gut renovation!
I’ve been working on plans for our kitchen for years – and have gone back and forth about many elements of the design, with one thing remaining the same: white cabinets and light quartz counters. When I had the opportunity to partner with Café Appliances from ADU Appliances everything QUICKLY came together! I honestly hadn’t spent too much time thinking about what type of appliances would fit that light and airy feel I was looking for with our kitchen, but was so excited to learn about ALL of the options that Café Appliances has which could easily achieve my design goals.
If you have’t heard of Cafe Appliances they have an amazing selection of modern, customizable appliances that will dramatically change your kitchen! I knew that this range was going to be the focal point of the design and started to work around it. Visiting my local ADU showroom and picking out our appliances (we are going with matte white & bronze hardware) really jumpstarted the design process – and the knowledgable ADU sales team was able to answer a lot of my questions, since this was my first experience shopping for appliances! I’ll be sharing a fun Q&A on Instagram today more about the appliances I selected!
Here are some of the images inspiring my design – they are light and airy, have wooden open shelves to bring in some warmth and really speak to the design I hope to create.
And here is my current mood board!
So … where are we in the process? Well we just demoed the kitchen completely! Plumbing is done and and electric is happening today. We’ve also ordered cabinets, counters and floor tile!
Here’s another peek at the design which shows plans for our island design!
This post is sponsored by ADU Appliances who is gifting us appliances for our kitchen remodel.
Can you share where you source your vintage rug from? I’m dying for one built scared to buy online!
