Since we’ve been on  a kick to remove the toxic chemicals from our house I knew I wanted to create a deet-free chemical-free bug spray for our family to use this summer. We live near the water so we get a ton of mosquitos and there are also a lot of bugs when we go to Maine and are outdoors a lot! I whipped this up in  few minutes using our essential oils and it’s kept us bug free so far!  You can read more about how we use oils here and read the FAQ about them, sign up to get your starter kit and start using oils with us here.

DIY Chemical-Free Bug Spray

4 drops citronella oil
4 drops purification blend oil
4 drops lavender oil
1/4 parts witch hazel
3/4 parts distilled water

Combine oils into the base of  a 4oz spray bottle, top with witch hazel and distilled water. Shake before use!
