My Style: Getting Active With Old Navy

I’d by lying if I said I’ve been exercising the way I should be the past few months. I kicked off the year on a good start (as most of us do!) — but as my work load has started to pick up I find it harder and harder to find time to exercise. I know this is bad and I struggle with it so much, especially now that swim season is at our doorstep! When I found out my assignment with Old Navy this month was Activewear it gave me a little nudge to get back on track, after all if you have comfortable workout clothes you feel confident in it makes all the difference! I’m obsessed with these compression pants and find myself wearing them a little too frequently!!
Instead of going to the gym and logging miles on the elliptical or treadmill (which I loathe) I’ve discovered there a few things I enjoy doing and I can see a notice in my body quickly if I keep at them. My best friend is a work out guru and has introduced me to most of this.
I’ve been trying to do Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred at least 3 days a week. This 20 minute video KILLS me, but I feel great after! There really is no reason you can’t find 20 minutes to work out in your living room!
I love Pilates and find it tones my core QUICK. I was taking a class at my gym but getting there mid-morning has become tricky. Thankfully Jess introduced me to Blogilates /POP-PILATES last year. Let me just tell you this girl is awesome but I can barely make it through her videos, they are so hard!
When I do make it to the gym I love Body Pump type classes. Again, if I do this class once a week for a month I notice a drastic difference in my legs and arms and overall I feel a lot better.
I hate running but I love to walk. Last summer I was logging 4 miles a few times a week when I lived downtown. Now it’s harder, however now I have my sweet pup to walk (can you believe how big he is??). Even if we just do 1-2 miles a day I’d be happy. I also could use a walking buddy, this would motivate me a lot more.
I’ve been wanting to try a Barre class, since I’m a former ballerina I think I’d love it. Do you have any tips for me? Any workouts I should know about? I’d love to know!
