Travels: Out of the Office

That’s right! I’m doing something crazy and taking an entire week off from blogging for the second time this summer! For the first time in many, many years I’m not going to the Napa Valley to visit my family this August. I’ve been pretty sad about not spending time at my favorite place in the world with my favorite people but am trying to accept that things change, and this year my immediate family and I are going on a new summer adventure.

My parents have rented a house in Bald Head Island, NC – we have to take a ferry to get there and there are no cars allowed on the island! There is also rare cell phone service and no wifi where we are staying. Did I mention the house comes with golf carts, kayaks and bikes? I’m pretty excited to be totally and completely unplugged, eat local fresh seafood, make fun cocktails and watch the Olympics with my family. When I get back I have a LOT of crazy stuff happening, so until I will be lounging on the beach. See you in August!
