What’s so important about THIS sale?

Well it happens once a year and tons of NEW fall merchandise is marked down for a limited time and then increases back in price after the sale. Many great investment pieces go on sale during this time ONLY making it a great time to shop for those higher ticket items. Of course there is a lot of fast fashion pieces under $50, too. Many things quickly sell out – which is why Nordstrom card-holders get the perk of shopping early. The sale opens to the general public from 7/19- 8/4.

Here are a few LEGIT MOM STYLE pieces that are still in stock!

Last year I got MAJOR Nordstrom sale fatigue after the first week.

Like many of you I follow a lot of bloggers and Instagram influencers and to be honest I was just REALLY tired of everyone telling me how I needed to spend all my money on these amazing products before they sold out 24/7. It gets a little repetitive and annoying and I don’t want to partake in that and make you feel like you need to spend, spend, spend this year.

My philosophy this year

After shopping this sale for years I’ve learned a few things. The cheaper, lower priced non-brand name items are simply just that and in my opinion not worth the price. So I won’t be trying on a bunch of $12 shirts and telling you to buy them. I’ve bought them and year after year they don’t hold up – same with the cheap sweaters. NOT WORTH IT! In my opinion it’s better to pick a few high quality pieces to purchase think sweaters over $100 and quality shoes and coats that will hold up for years. Last year I got a pair of Madewell jeans I wear allllll the time – they were a higher ticket item but totally worth it!

My picks

Here are all my picks from the sale! There aren’t a ton this year – but these are the ones I strongly believe investing in!

A GREAT PAIR OF JEANS

Madewell 10″ Skinny Jeans – I got these last year during the sale and they were not only my most worn jeans of the entire year but one of the most purchased items from my affiliate links. Size down! I also tried on these Madewell jeans yesterday (see below for images) and loved the fit (size down) and the Madewell Cali Boot denim in black are a great option, too!

CARDIGAN OR SWEATER COAT

Madewell Ryder Cardigan: I skipped over this last year and had big regrets because the price is so good. I love it in gray. Another option is this beautiful Kenneth Cole Sweater Coat that has more structure to it (I got this one). I also love the J.Crew Sweater Coat if you want to go bold! And I think I’m going to finally pull the trigger on a Barefoot Dreams Cardigan, an investment piece that will last for years and this one is soooo soft!

LEGGINGS

Last year I got Zella Live In High Rise leggings for the first time during the N*Sale and now they are all I wear. I love the high waist – seriously so flattering and NOW THEY HAVE MATERNITY!!!!! Everyone also looooves these faux leather Spanx leggings which are part of the sale and normally $100.

Leather Jacket: Last year I was on the hunt for a leather jacket and never found one – I love how simple the design of this is.

Shoes

I was a little disappointed in the shoe selection this year but here are my picks…

Pointy Toe Black Booties: Another item I wanted and searched for but never got last fall and will be on trend again this season.

Adidas Sneakers: I desperately need new sneakers and picked this pair because I like how they look……ha. Ordering for our summer vacation!

Ugg Scuffette Slipper: These ALWAYS sell out before I decide I want to spend $54 on slippers for myself but this year I am doing it.

Hunter Rain Boots: Another classic staple that rarely goes on sale. They have the tall glossy black boots, tall packable and shorter versions. I love my classic tall ones but hate driving in them, the shorter ankle are nice for errands etc!

Bags

Longchamp Le Pliage Expandable Tote: It took me years to finally get a Longchamp bag and now I use it alllll the time in my #momlife. Such a good deal on this expandable one!

Madewell Transport Tote: Such a great bag and a good deal – I have the regular one but this one is so pretty with the suede insert! Makes it a little special.

Extras

I really love both of these sweaters (Wrap Sweater & Madewell Patch Pocket Sweater ) and can vouch for the quality – Madewell just holds up! I also got this camel colored one from TopShop today in store after thinking about it yesterday. I know I will wear it ALL fall because it’s the perfect color that goes with everything and is super soft!

I just LOVE this tweed jacket so much from my try on (below). I didn’t get it but I’m going to think about it because I’ve been looking for one and just really like the colors, quality and fit.

My Diffuser!!!! Guys I get asked about this beauty more than anything else and it’s on sale for $45! It sells out during the holidays so I’m sure it will be GONE quick!
