A Week Of Outfits + Getting Ready Every Day

On Monday I started the week off with a goal- a new routine I hope to get into every week. While I often set lofty goals for the year I feel like I never really reach any of them. Why not create smaller, weekly goals that can become habits and routine in your daily life? To start I want to try and make a simple yet major change in my morning routine: I want to actually get ready, put on makeup and a cute outfit most days of the week. So this week I did just that and here’s what I learned.

I really LOVE how getting dressed and ready for the day changes my attitude and productivity. It also made me eager to get out of the house more since I didn’t have any excuses. I felt much less lazy. And I felt much better about my self-esteem.

Yes, finding 30-45 minutes every morning to spend in the bathroom means I sacrificed something else and in my case it was working on my laptop or publishing Instagram stories. Did it affect my blog traffic this week? Probably. But by today (Friday) I really have come to look forward to my time closed off in my bathroom with my coffee and podcast, alone before the day starts.

I think this is a routine I 100% want to try and keep up with. There were some mornings where I felt lazy but knowing that I had promised my Instagram audience I’d do this + share the outfits here really held me accountable.

And….here are my 5 outfits!

Monday: Kept it really easy with all black (sweater + pants) and my favorite J.Crew sweater coat I’ve been wearing non-stop. It’s 40% off too! Booties are also on sale. And my headband is from Amazon.

Tuesday: New favorite sweater from H&M – it’s soooo soft! And those A&F pants again in white.

Wednesday: EASY – flannel button up shirt, super skinny jeans and my trusty Target loafers. I threw on this wrap sweater over top. (All old)

Thursday: Valentine’s Day! Got dressed up a little for our family breakfast date. My top is my favorite from Madewell last year and my jeans are vintage Levi’s I got at Reformation but these are similar. Shoes are Sole Society and I’ve had them for years!

Friday: Favorite cozy sweater from Madewell & Abercromie pants (so great I have them in 3 colors) .
