DIY Letter Recognition Chalkboard For Toddlers

24

Apr

I’ve seen a lot of these adorable chalkboards available for sale but figured I could easily whip up my own. It took 10 minutes + drying time to make these and Piper has loved using it to practice her letters!

Supplies:

Wooden Chalkboard (mine is from Walmart but they are available for $5 or less at Michael’s and AC Moore – really any craft store!)

Chalk

Chalk Paint Pen

Ruler

Acrylic Paint + Painter’s Tape

Directions:

Step 1: Use painters tape to tape off the edges of chalkboard. Paint with acrylic paint and let dry completely.

Step 2: Use a ruler and a piece of chalk to map out where you want lines.

Step 3: Use a chalk paint pen to trace over these lines. If you want to do letters for your child to trace in broken lines you can do the same thing, draw with chalk first and then trace with the paint pen.

Easy!
