Family Travel Diary: Lake Anna, Virginia

We got back yesterday from the best long weekend at the lake! We rented a house with 4 other families at Lake Anna in Virginia. We found the house on VRBO and the listing is HERE. It was the perfect set up, we really couldn’t have asked for more! You can see a peek of the space on my Instagram stories here. There was a dock for jumping, sandy beach area for wading in, paddle boats, fire pit and plenty of grass for running! It was really a quintessential trip the lake with fishing, kayak rides, floating in rafts, sipping chilled glasses of wine and lots of cups of coffee on the giant deck. I can’t wait to return next year and stay a few days longer!

There were 5 bedrooms in the house which worked out perfectly. Piper and her friend Olivia shared a room and had so much fun together. We all took turns cooking and got into a routine with our 3 babies and 2 wild toddlers!

The girls fished off the pier and though they didn’t catch anything had a lot of fun. We were really impressed with their patience and didn’t expect them to last as long as they did!

I wore my Amazon skirt as a swim cover up and my J.Crew suit is back in stock! And I love my new hat. It’s the perfect size (I have a large).

There was the perfect sandy beach contained by wood (the girls called it a sand box) for Flora to play in!

Piper is in swim lessons right now but was soooo brave in the water. She loved jumping off the dock!

These two are too much. Piper’s suit is sold out from H&M but there is a similar one in pink. Olivia’s adorable ice cream suit is from Amazon! Piper needs another one for summer so I just ordered it!

The girls had so much fun making smores down by the water on our last night – and chasing fireflies through the woods!

We had the best time! My top is Michael Stars and my shorts are Abercrombie.

This swim raft is perfect for little babes that can sit up. We used it for Piper, too! My suit is from J.Crew last year.
