Neapolitan Frozen Yogurt Cake With Waffle Cone Crust

Summer is FINALLY upon us! I think most of us can agree this summer is going to be one for the books! After being stuck at home for over a year I am so ready to celebrate warm weather with friends and family this year. Today I’ve teamed up with ALDI to share the most delicious frozen yogurt treats. While these treats are a little labor intensive, I promise they are worth it and your kids will be so excited to gobble them up! They are perfect for entertaining and backyard gatherings!  I’m making a frozen yogurt cake and popsicles with the leftover yogurt! 

Here’s why I love them these homemade frozen yogurt Neapolitan treats:

+They contain whole, simple foods and no refined sugars
+You can purchase all of the ingredients affordably at ALDI
+They are packed with calcium and protein thanks to the plain Greek yogurt used
+They are a festive and fun twist on a nostalgic treat! 

As you know by now ALDI is my go-to for affordable groceries for my family. I love the thrill of finding new items in the ALDI Finds aisle, being able to stock up on organic produce without the high price and all of the fun ALDI brand items that are always in stock. 

But back to my summer treats…. To start with you’re going to make 3 flavored Greek yogurts: vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. You can make the ice cream cake and then use the leftovers to make popsicles or vice versa. Or just make popsicles! 

Prep time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 

Strawberry Flavored Greek Yogurt

1 Cup of Simply Nature Organic Plain Greek Yogurt
2 TBS Specially Selected Maple Syrup
1 Cup of diced strawberries
2 TBS Milk 

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. 

Chocolate Flavored Greek Yogurt

1 Cup of Simply Nature Organic Plain Greek Yogurt
3 TBS Specially Selected Maple Syrup
2 TBS cocoa powder
3 TBS Milk 

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. 

Vanilla Flavored Greek Yogurt

1 Cup of Simply Nature Organic Plain Greek Yogurt
3 TBS Specially Selected Maple Syrup
3 TBS Milk
1 TSP Stonemill Pure Vanilla Extract 

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth

Neapolitan Frozen Yogurt Cake With Waffle Cone Crust

Ingredients
Flavored Greek Yogurts
4 Benton’s Jumbo Waffle Cones, broken into small pieces
2 TBS melted butter
1 TBS Sugar

  1. In a blender or food processor combine waffle cone pieces, melted butter and sugar. Pulse until finely crumbled.
  2. Line a loaf pan with a piece of parchment or wax paper.
  3. Press the waffle cone crumbs into the bottom until compact.
  4. Layer on the 3 flavors of yogurt and freeze overnight.

Neapolitan Popsicles

Ingredients: 
Flavored Greek yogurts
Popsicle sleeves or mold 

  1. Use plastic popsicle sleeves or a popsicle holder and add a layer of Simply Nature Organic Plain Greek Yogurt.
  2. If you’d like to have clearly defined layers, set the popsicle upright in the freezer for 20 minutes to set (Note: I skipped this step and my popsicles are still pretty layered).
  3. Add your next flavor and repeat the process with the last flavor. 
  4. Freeze until solid and enjoy!
