Post-Baby Body Changes & Bras

It’s pretty obvious when you go through pregnancy your body changes a lot — it’s one of the most amazing parts of having a child but can also leave you feeling a little insecure and uncomfortable in your own skin at first. Post-baby I’ve been trying to walk when I can but haven’t made it back to the gym just yet, and my body definitely doesn’t look or feel the same. I’m still trying to figure out how to balance my workload + family time so gym time hasn’t fit in yet. Somehow I fit in most of my pre-baby clothes (I attribute that to my diet for Piper which doesn’t allow me to eat my favorite foods: pizza, cheese and crackers & ice cream) but one thing that’s changed for sure is my bra size. I have a few nursing bras which I rely on when I’m lounging around the house but when I had the opportunity to get a proper fitting from Chantelle Paris it couldn’t have come at a better time.

I was surprised to find out the majority of women are wearing the wrong bra size — I certainly was. Chantelle Paris has fit experts across the country in leading department stores and I met with the most knowledgable associate at Nordstrom. Comfort is really the most important thing to me when shopping for a bra, and because of that I was purchasing bras that were way too big — really offsetting the purpose of a bra and offering me no support. I’ve always been self-conscious about my chest size and after going through pregnancy and now nursing I’m definitely looking to minimize.

I was shocked to see what a difference a proper fitting bra made to my overall look when wearing a simple white tee-shirt. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant at first because the bra was much tighter than I was used to — but like my Chantelle consultant explained, undergarments are supposed to support you – so they need to be a little tight. With the proper lift and support my chest looked so much smaller than in my saggy nursing bra! I was so excited walking out of my appointment to feel a little more confident with my new body all thanks to a proper fitting bra.

Chantelle Paris’ bras are really works of art — they are delicate, light and beautifully crafted. They are practical in their designs, colors and fabrics but still undoubtedly feminine.  I love their spacer fabric which is breathable but still supportive.
