I’m starting a new monthly tradition of picking a book or two and coming up with activities to go along with it – for my girls and to share here! In the spirit of Halloween I’ve selected Room On The Broom for our first book basket! If you haven’t read this adorable Halloween book, I highly suggest it. There’s also a cute movie that we’ve already watched probably 10 times this month!
I presented the girls with this basket, full of the prompts & supplies for a few activities to do together throughout the week.
We are going to play ‘hide seek’ with a star shaped magic wand. Flora loves this game! Just hide the wand (or witch hat) and let your child find it.
We are going to use the cauldron to practice counting and put a combo of fake spiders and bones in.
We are going to make witch hats out of black cardstock and decorate them and brooms out of pipe cleaners and yarn! We are going to thread beads onto the pipe cleaner brooms to practice fine motor skills.
I also printed off this free Room on The Broom sequencing sheet for Piper, and I’m going to have Flora color and make puppets with it.
For reference, my girls are almost 3 and 5.
I love this!!! We are obsessed with room on the broom and I’m 100% making brooms with my kids today thanks to this post. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for sharing the link to the sequencing printable! We love Room on the Broom and this is such a cute activity!
