Simplifying The Evening Routine

I’ve been talking (e.g. complaining) a lot lately about how things have been stressful since having Flora in December. Everyone warned me and I guess I didn’t quite realize how tough the transition would be. I think I’m turning a corner and slowly getting adjusted to our new (amazing) life as a family of 4. One thing I’ve tried to do is make simple changes to relieve STRESS where I can. I’ve partnered with Ivory to share how I’m simplifying our routine!

One of those areas is the universally loved witching hours between 4-7pm. This is the time when Piper gets home from school and is usually super cranky and it’s the only time of day when Flora really can be irritable, fussy and only want to be held. This time is REALLY fun when I’m solo parenting on weeknights! But I tried a simple switch in our routine and was amazed at the difference it made!

Instead of waiting to give Piper her bath until after dinner, we now do it before. I usually do it as soon as I can after she gets home from school. Somehow, this little change has made a world of difference! I’m not as stressed and rushed to bathe her since we have more time now. We have been using the Ivory Original 3 -bar, which Piper thinks is so fun since we let her use it herself. We love how the Ivory Original 3-bar and Ivory Original Body Wash are both free of dyes and heavy perfumes which can irritate her sensitive skin. We also enjoy the Ivory Free & Gentle Body Wash with Pear & Sandalwood which Piper likes to pump out onto her little flower sponge. I love how the body wash contains the #1 Dermatologist-Recommended moisturizing ingredient. Ivory’s products have been trusted for over 138 years.

Getting the bath out of the way before dinner allows us to have some nice time to settle down after we eat. Piper loves to play this cute Bunny Bedtime game or pile into our bed and read books. A lot of people ask how we prevent her from getting messy at dinner – and the truth we’ve just been working on eating slowly and carefully so she does’t create a mess. She always wears a bib and uses utensils and so far we haven’t had to change her out of her PJs yet!

This small hack has made me much less stressed when I’m alone with the girls and trying to get them both ready for bed and has given us the ability to have some quality time together before bed which I really love.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Ivory. The opinions and text are all mine.
