Skincare With Grace Atwood

We are so excited to launch a new skincare series today where we pick the brains of women with skin we envy to get the dish on their favorite products and routine. The first gal that came to mind was popular lifestyle blogger, Grace Atwood, from The Stripe. Grace has always had glowing, dewy, youthful looking skin and frequently reviews products on her site so we couldn’t wait to hear what she had to share about her every day routine!

What is your morning + night skincare routine?
I try to keep it minimal, but that is not always the case:
AM: I rub Tata Harper’s Oil Cleanser all over my face and let it sink in while I get into the shower. Once I’m in the shower, I add a splash of water which emulsifies the oil into a milky consistency. Then, I’ll cleanse again using Indie Lee’s brightening cleanser. After showering, I will dry off my face and pat on SK-II. Once that’s dried, I’ll apply The Vintner’s Daughter’s Serum and whatever moisturizer I’m currently trying out (right now I’m loving this one that I picked up at Catbird) Then, the last step is tinted moisturizer (I love Laura Mercier) with SPF. And eye cream! For day I swear by Natura Bisse The Cure. It’s magical, and has a self-adjusting tint so you can skip concealer.

PM: It’s more of the same, with a few changes. I’ll start with a cleansing balm (loving Sunday Riley Blue Moon right now) and then a gel cleanser (love Tata Harper’s purifying gel cleanser!) Then, SK-II + The Vintner’s Daughter… and then a heavier cream for night. I usually mix up my face cream depending on my mood… but my favorites are Sisley’s Supremia or May Lindstrom’s Blue Cocoon balm. Before bed, I like my skin to be greasy.. basically… that way I wake up and it’s soft + smooth!!! I’ll also do an eye cream… I really love Sisley’s Supremia Eye Cream or my One Love Organics balm.

Favorite moisturizer?
That is so hard (I am a hydration junkie and have a lot of moisturizers!!) Right now it’s May Lindstrom’s Blue Cocoon because it’s so hydrating and helps with redness but I change favorites every week.

Favorite drugstore skincare product?

How do you indulge when it comes to your skin?
Well, if the above routine is any indication, I invest both time and money in my skincare regimen. I’m 34 and constantly get told that I look like I’m in my twenties and that’s because I take good care of it. I also like to get facials from time to time and I love a good face masks. (My favorites are SK-II Sheet Masks and Tata Harper’s Resurfacing Mask)

What is your #1 must-do when it comes to taking care of your skin?
A consistent routine is a must, but I will say that using SK-II’s Treatment Essence every day morning and night has made a huge difference.

Bronzer, blush, or both?
Both!  I can get pretty pasty, so I need both (in moderation, of course)

What facial sunscreen do you use in the summer?

Do you use some sort of cream with SPF all year long on your face?
Yes! If I don’t do a dedicated SPF, it’s always in my tinted moisturizer.

Do you ever double cleanse?
Yes! I am a huge huge fan of the double cleanse. The oil cleanser sweeps away makeup and dirt, which allows the gel cleanser to work better.

Make-up remover wipes…yay or nay?
I want to say nay, but in a pinch they are better than nothing at all.

Favorite cleanser, toner, moisturizer, night cream, and eye cream:
Toner: I don’t use one, but I love SK-II’s Treatment Essence which is my in between step!
Moisturizer: Tata Harper
Night Cream: Sisley Supremia
