I have mixed feelings when it comes to trends. I like to feel like I’m ‘keeping up’ with the fashion world and wearing things that are in style but I also hate getting caught up in something just because it’s a fad. I also don’t look forward to totally revamping my wardrobe every season to be trendy, so I’ve built a closet of staples and have fun with a few trends each season. Sometimes I get excited about a trend, like when I was pregnant last year I was particularly sad I couldn’t partake in the off the shoulder, ruffle top and dress trend.
I’ve also built my jewelry collection around classic pieces that can be worn as trends come and go — case in point the plethora of dainty gold necklaces, bracelets and rings I’ve accumulated over the years.
