It’s been a while since I’ve shared beauty favorites -but I have a few to talk about today. As you know I’ve been breastfeeding for 9 months know, so I’m a bit limited in the anti-aging department when it comes to skincare (can’t wait to get my hands on retinol!!!) BUT – have no fear. I’ve found some incredible products that have left me with the clearest, glowing skin I’ve had in a while! There’s even a makeup free selfie at the bottom of this post to show you how legit these products are.
Here are all my pregnancy safe skincare& beauty favorites!
Let’s start with the new Ole Henriksen Transform Plus Duo. I was a little skeptical as this new line claims to be a safer, alternative to retinol but gives you similar results. It’s a big claim – but I’m excited to say it lives up to the hype for me. It utilizes bakuchiol, a plant-based ingredient derived from the Ayurvedic babchi herb and AHAs. It literally leaves your skin glowing. I find the night cream to be a bit thick and sticky for my liking but I still use it every other night because the results are too good to mess with. I’ve been alternating the serum (which at under $60 is a great deal for something with results this powerful) with the TRUTH Serum also from Ole Henriksen. I just love that these anti-aging skincare products are BREASTFEEDING SAFE! Check with your doctor if you have any concerns (as I’m not a medical professional).
The TRUTH Serum – deserves its own spot on the list. I’ve been using this serum for about 6 months and the results are REAL friends. It’s definitely smoothed fine lines on my forehead and it absorbs quickly – making it perfect to use under your moisturizer.
I’ve taken a break from oils and really seen my hormonal acne improve drastically but when I’m feeling really dry I reach for True Botanticals! I love their Pure Radiance Facial Oil. It’s super hydrating but also combats signs of aging.
Next up, the new at-home Rapid Reveal Peel from Dermalogica. I did a partnership with the brand for this product on Instagram and loved it SO much. I used a very similar treatment before my wedding which I was equally as obsessed with but this one is breastfeeding safe. You simply apply the peel to your face after washing for 3 nights in a row to kick-start the regime. Then just use it once a week. Your skin is noticeably smoother and more even after the first treatment. I’ve never had so many people ask about what I was using on my skin! Using this in tandem with the Ole Henriksen Transform Plus Duo has been a game changer (though on days after I do the peel I ONLY apply a soothing, lightweight moisturizer, no serums).
Lip Sleeping Mask by Laneige is something I’ve wanted to try for so long, but $20 for a lip product just seemed a little high for me. Well breastfeeding has officially sucked all the moisture out of my lips and I decided to splurge on this while at Sephora last week. Game changer! My lips have never been so soft, it lasts all night and I wear it during the day too. It’s just like a thick, supple lip balm.
