Tips For Surviving Great Wolf Lodge (With A Baby)

Last weekend Great Wolf Lodge invited us on a media trip to experience their new ‘Summer Camp In’ that will be launching across all properties Memorial Day through Labor Day. It was our first time going and we had so much fun. Piper was over the moon excited for days leading up to the trip and I think all of her wildest dreams came true!

I had heard great things about Great Wolf Lodge and was so excited to check it out myself. THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO HERE!!!! In addition to the water park which has water slides, a wave pool, lazy river, toddler pool area amongst manyyyy other things there are non-water related activities too. Like an arcade, bowling, mini golf, climbing wall, MagiQuest and more!

One of my favorite parts of Great Wolf Lodge was all the wonderful programing it offers included with your stay, like breakfast with the characters, morning yoga, bedtime stories (and dance parties).

Some of the new things they are offering this summer: A smores desert experience, rubber ducky race in the lazy river, the option to get a camp themed room (complete with a teepee), campfire ceremony & BBQ camp dinner!

And now for our tips on how to manage ALL this with a baby in tow!

Try to stick with your sleep routine as much as possible – naps are KEY to preventing over-tired babies (and toddlers).

Sound machine! Maybe even consider bringing two – one to put right next to your baby’s crib and another to put in your sleep area to keep everyone else sleeping if baby wakes!

Opt for a suite so you can put baby in their own room and enjoy time watching TV, reading etc.with your older kids before bed! They also have suits with kitchens which would be ideal for food prep!

Bring snacks. Plenty of snacks! There are a few options for food at Great Wolf Lodge but packing snacks for all those in-between times will save you!

Don’t try to do it all! Plan to enjoy some of the morning activities like yoga followed by a character breakfast and a few hours (2 max) at the water park before lunch and naps. Don’t forget there are a lot of non-water activities available! Flora just loved running up and down the hotel room halls, too!

Plan ahead of time!!There is a LOT to see and do. Be sure to check the event calendar, too!

Tag team with your partner. Having 2 adults is plenty but if a grandparent wants to come along, even better-then you can enjoy sometime on a water slide too.

Make sure to bring your baby LOTION! The chlorine is STRONG and dried out my skin after our first afternoon so I can only imagine what it did to Flora’s. I made sure to rinse the girls and put lotion on both of them after each visit.
