Activities To Try If You’re Stuck At Home With Your Kids During Coronavirus

It’s on all of our minds, especially since Coronavirus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Events are being cancelled left and right and most parents are just wondering when not if schools will be cancelled. This idea makes many working parents worried, myself included so I thought I’d compile some of the activities I’ve shared over the years so you can start to prepare and grab supplies in case you’re stuck at home for a few weeks with your children. I’ve also included a group of activities specifically geared towards younger toddlers (18-24 months) towards the end. And if all else fails… don’t forget about our favorite Yoga channel!!!

POURING STATION! Super easy activity for kids of all ages – mine at 18 months and almost 4 both love this. Add food coloring to practice mixing colors and find an assortment of bottles and pitchers to practice pouring skills. I give my girls ONE refill so they take their time with the water ! You can do this in a water table or NOT!! Works either way!

I got a lot of questions about the ages the activities were for in our pipe cleaner IGTV. I would say they are intended for 24 months and up, but can be adapted for smaller ones! You just want to watch the pointy pipe cleaner ends carefully around tiny eyes. Welcome to the car wash 🧼 The girls LOVED giving a scrub down to all our outside toys!!! They did this for a solid 30 minutes. I just used an empty dish soap bottle with watered down soap, new outside sponges from the Target dollar bin & let them have fun.

Sensory play for babies with empty tissue boxes! Two simple ideas: tie together scarves (you can buy on Amazon) for baby to pull out or create a “touch & feel” box with items from around your house & craft closet. As always just be sure they are age appropriate and not a choking hazard.
